Dipped In Creativity Engagement CIC, is a youth engagement service that works primarily with 16- 30-year-olds in London facing intersectional barriers and other obstacles. We specialise in mentoring, career pathways support and access to creative opportunities. We empower individuals to enhance mental well-being and foster supportive community connections.
Our values are at the heart of everything we do: championing YOU, collaboration, compassion, creativity, and community.
Set up by co-founders, Kianu and Aaliyah Glasgow who are twin sisters that are committed to giving back to their community and upskilling young people to become greater leaders in their communities. We started off as a voluntary group in 2018 supporting young people and adults who were not in education, training, or employment (NEET). In 2019, we decided to formalise our offer and our creative programmes were born, putting individuals' happiness and wellbeing at the centre of our work. Very often at that time, we were operating on a shoestring, self-funded and regularly volunteering our time in the community with other youth and community volunteers.
At the core, we are a grassroots organisation that has founded a community of young people and young adults that co-design programmes for 16-30-year-olds. We recognise the power of partnerships and love collaborating with other organisations and services.
We use creativity as a tool to help those struggling with their mental health and our knowledge of the NEET sector (not in education, employment or training) to get individuals back into education or employment. We foster connections so we can rally around each other and embrace each other’s struggles and successes.
