Objectives

Digital Voice offers hands-on opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to use digital activities and skills to improve their lives. Our social enterprise team motivates and empowers individuals and community groups to cross the `digital divide`.

Our services bring a wide range of benefits, from employability to health to inclusion and community cohesion. Since 2007, we have helped more than 6,000 people and worked with third sector groups, housing associations, local authorities, schools, travellers, refugee groups and many more.

Our six main types of projects are listed with examples. These are tailored to needs and outcomes required, and use whichever forms of media are most suitable, from tablets to video, audio, digital photography, animation, VJ performance, print and the web.

From the start, we listen carefully and help organisations to decide which forms of media best match their aims. High quality projects are delivered; information on testimonies and award recognition is available throughout the DV website.

Activities

DV tailors its popular services to the aims of a wide range of marginalised groups. Its workshops and projects include:

  • iSkills (levels 1,2 and 3) - gradually build confidence in creative digital skills (for example, using photos creatively or recording photography/videos).
  • GeoStories - share rural and urban heritage and dig deep into what shapes local lives and communities. Intergenerational groups work together to make interactive stories combining maps, pictures, videos and narrative.
  • DigiTale - individuals create their own special story.
  • LifeBooks - celebrate unique lives and share memories with today’s – and future – generations.
  • inTouch - improving daily life through acquiring knowledge of - and enthusiasm about - the benefits of online activities.
  • DigitalMe - unlocking the power for vulnerable and ignored groups to express views and creativity, using pioneering award-winning approach.
