Our aim is to help alleviate poverty in developing countries, particularly Sub Saharan Africa, by developing and introducing appropriate technologies that provide opportunities for poor people to improve their lives. The emphasis is on helping people to help themselves.
Activities include:
1 Liaising with organisations working in developing countries regarding problems and potential projects
2 Formulating and supervising projects at City University and Imperial College. At present this comprises 2 or 3 design projects (about 15 to 20 students) and 3 individual projects at City and 1 or 2 group projects at Imperial (4 to 10 students). All projects are part of the academic course
3 Recruiting and managing volunteers to work with partners to introduce projects in developing countries
4 Managing overseas projects carried out by local partners. This includes preparing technical instructions and monitoring programmes
