Objectives

Dementia Support is an exciting local charity working in partnership with voluntary and charitable organisations, the NHS, West Sussex County Council and other statutory organisations, to create a unique community hub for dementia. Designed to truly enhance the wellbeing and quality of life for local people living with dementia, their family and carers.

Sage House is a bespoke, modern and functional community centre, where people can access the most up to date support, information and advice.

Sage House was officially opened on the 8th May 2018 by Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex . Now fully operational, we aim to bring local dementia services together under one roof and provide the latest support, information, advice and activities to those living with Dementia.

Our vision is a society where dementia is wholly understood and accepted enabling people living with dementia to be fully supported throughout the whole of their journey, now and in the future.

Dementia Support Charity is a new way provide care and improve the lives of local people living with dementia.

Activities

We support people living with dementia and their carers across West Sussex, from Wisborough Green, down to Arundel, across to Bognor, down to Selsey and the Witterings and to Emsworth in the west.

Dementia Support is unique. We are the first of its kind to bring all services under one roof, from diagnosis through the NHS run Memory Assessment Team, our unique Wayfinding service providing personal practical and emotional support and advice, our café to encourage social interaction and conversation through our chatter tables, wellbeing therapy and services from hairdressing to assisted bathing and reiki, to day care and activities such as singing, percussion and one of our most popular veterans group.

We currently have 30 much needed staff and over 60 volunteers who are hugely valuable and we see over 100 people through our doors every day. Our day care services we call Day Breaks are at 90% capacity and we have a waiting list.
