Objectives

Deafinitely Theatre, founded in 2002, is a award-winning bi-lingual Deaf-led theatre company, and produces and performs theatre productions aimed at deaf and hearing audiences. As a National Portfolio Organisation supported by Arts Council England, we produce groundbreaking artistic work, aimed at D/deaf and hearing communities, raising awareness about the unique challenges D/deaf people face, and showcasing the unique artistic creativity of D/deaf performers, artists and professionals.

Activities

Deafinitely Theatre engages in a wide range of work, including but not limited to: an annual main production; a biennial family show; the Deafinitely Youth Theatre Programme, designed to train and showcase emerging D/deaf and hearing bilinguals; the Creative Hub Programme, designed for emerging deaf artists, nurturing and developing them through accessible training to further their careers within the creative industries; Regional Outreach Workshops introducing deaf people to a professional theatre environment for the first time; and various bespoke consultancy and training packages, including Deaf Awareness workshops and accessibility consultancy.
