Curieus Games is a Community Interest Company, and our mission is to inspire curiosity about sustainable energy and develop the problem solvers of the future. Our CIC is dedicated to supporting three key communities - students, teachers, and the wider public - by promoting awareness and understanding of energy and climate change. We support these communities through Megawatt, an educational card game that challenges players to build an electricity grid. Based on real-world data, Megawatt teaches players all about energy while having fun. By promoting science literacy and inspiring the next generation to pursue STEM careers, we benefit all people in society. The students we reach will be better informed about the net zero challenge and better placed to make informed decisions in the future. We are committed to reinvesting all our profits for the benefit of our community. As our reach grows, we will continue to put our mission first and help change the world one bit at a time.
To deliver these objectives, we supply Megawatt to schools and the wider public. We have also made Megawatt available under a creative commons licence so anyone can print the game and play for free. We also deliver interactive sessions in schools, which include Megawatt workshops, careers talks and a teacher session to learn how to use Megawatt in the classroom. We continue to develop Megawatt and supporting resources with support from teachers and experts to ensure it continues to meet the needs of our target communities.
