Objectives

Culture Community offers an educational service for children and young adults aged 8 to 16, with a particular focus on teaching Black History, traditions, and culture. Our mission is to foster a sense of identity, belonging, and purpose in today's society among all young people, with a special emphasis on supporting and encouraging black children and youth.

We create a safe and secure environment where children and young adults can form positive relationships with their peers, which may not happen due to the impact of social media and limited social groups.

Our service is a space for youth to express themselves, have fun, and build their confidence through team-building games and lessons. Our curriculum empowers children and young people with the necessary skills to navigate society and become well-rounded citizens and positive role models, equipped with a clear sense of purpose and identity. We also provide children and young people with a deep understanding of their own cultural heritage and traditions, as well as the often-overlooked aspects of Black History that are not currently included in the curriculum. We are seeking funding to expand our services and reach more young people in Peterborough and beyond, to promote a positive community and a deeper understanding of Black History and culture.

Activities

Our teaching methods are designed to be fun and engaging, helping students to build confidence and form new relationships in a safe and positive environment.

Our enriched learning environment helps students learn in a fun and exciting way, building confidence and making new relationships. We have the privilege of teaching bright and curious children and young adults from around Peterborough.
