Objectives

Crystal Palace Park Trust is an independent community trust established by the London Borough of Bromley. It will take over the running of events in the Park in 2022 and in due course will take over the Park itself. Its objectives are:

  • To preserve, protect, manage and improve the physical and natural environment of the Park and its heritage.
  • To promote community participation in, and enjoyment of, the Park, in particular, sports and recreation, arts, heritage and culture.
  • To advance the education of the public in relation to the history and heritage of the Park.

The Trust’s aims include developing a vision for the whole Park including the National Sports Centre run by the GLA, and partnering with existing projects and groups in the Park that share its interests and objectives.

Activities

This year it has prepared a planning brief for the community in response to Bromley Council's planning application for the site and an events strategy for public consultation regarding its approach to running events in the park. It has contracted with two major promoters for events in 2021 which will provide a firm financial base from which to further develop its activities.  From there it will proceed to take over all events and management.  It will also be working with Bromley Council to plan a formal handover of this great historic space to the Trust.
