Objectives

Crossroads Care Kent is a Kent based charity supporting Carers of all ages who are looking after a family member, partner or friend who, because of illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support.  Caring for a loved one with dementia, a terminal illness, or who may just be getting older and frailer can take an enormous toll on the whole family, especially their nearest and dearest.

We provide a listening, empathetic ear for all Carers; as well as more practical support at times of need.

Activities

Our free service provides dedicated and trained care staff to visit families regularly, usually weekly, to take over the caring role to enable a Carer to take a well-earned break.  We carefully match our staff with each family so that Carers can and relax and enjoy their free time, knowing their loved one is safe and comfortable with someone they can trust.

Our Crisis Services is there for those really difficult times when Carers feel they can't go on.

Being a Young Carer can have a massive impact on a child's life including loss of childhood and  educational difficulties.  Our Young Carers service has a dedicated team of staff and volunteers and supports Young Carers between the ages of 5 and 18.
