Objectives

Creekside Education Trust was established in 2001 to conserve and maintain Deptford Creek for people and wildlife. We do this through three key ways:

Delivering valuable conservation management of unique habitats in the Creek, on our Discovery Centre site and in nearby greenspaces.

Running a programme adventurous, outdoor environmental learning for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Collaborating with partners and communities to strengthen connections of people with their local  natural surroundings through varied and creative ways.

We have a small team of staff and wonderful volunteers who enable all of this to happen, without which over 7,000 people per year wouldn't be able to enjoy the unique experience of wading in Deptford Creek and exploring over 250 different plant species at the Creekside Discovery Centre.

Activities

We manage a variety of inter-tidal and terrestrial habitats for improved biodiversity.

We deliver lifelong learning opportunities for all through adventurous, hands-on activities.

We host a popular programme of educational school visits throughout the year.

We run an open programme of events and activities for all people, including our very popular low tide walks in Deptford Creek.

We work with local developments to ensure that they incorporate improved habitats and management of habitats within their large building projects.

We collaborate with local and regional partners to deliver projects and activities for the benefit of people and wildlife.
