Objectives

Creative Futures is a multi-arts charity which offers transformative experiences through the arts for children, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. We specialize in devising and delivering inspiring projects which will have a profound and lasting impact on children in the Early Years, and children and young people who are Looked After or with Special Educational Needs. We reach almost 3,000 children each year in London and parts of the Southeast, the majority being children under 5 and their families, carers and educators.

At Creative Futures we believe passionately that all children have the right to access, experience and participate in high quality arts activities. We also strongly believe that the arts has a crucial place in society for their own sake as well as for the wider benefits they bring in areas such as mental health and well-being, social interaction and self-expression, and across many areas associated with children's educational development.

Activities

Creative Futures delivers unique projects with pre-schools, schools, and communities across London and the southeast. We specialise in Early Years, Looked After Children, and Special Educational Needs. Within these fields we deliver projects with children aged 0-4 years and their families, such as 'Community Families' in Westminster and 'London Rhymes' in Newham both of which are projects which involve local families meeting together with their young children to bond, socialise, reduce isolation and be creative through music. We also support nursery and pre-school settings, and early educators through programmes such as 'Sound Communities'. Our work with SEN children focusses on primary school aged deaf children, with whom we run a music programme called 'Sounding Out' to offer them musical experiences as well as support communication skills. Our programmes with Looked After young people focus on music and art, in particular 'band' projects which explore song-writing and recording so that these young people can find means of expression together through music.  Every project is devised with our partners to meet the needs of the participants, and delivered by inspiring, experienced artist-educators.
