CPRE (the Campaign to Protect Rural England) campaigns for a sustainable future for the English countryside. It highlights threats and promotes positive solutions seeking to influence public opinion and decision makers at every level. CPRE Oxfordshire is the local Branch, an independently registered charity, working specifically to protect and enhance the Oxfordshire countryside and its rural communities. With the pressures from growth increasing, it is vital work helping to ensure that development is guided appropriately to protect our rural county for future generations.
CPRE Oxfordshire engages with the local planning system, monitoring and responding to planning applications and speaking up for rural issues within local planning policy. We provide advice and support to parish councils, local communities groups and individuals. We run activities and events helping people to understand, appreciate and take action to look after their local landscape and environment.
