We’re passionate about making the environment and countryside in Nottinghamshire a better place for everyone to enjoy. Our vibrant team of volunteers inspire people to care for the countryside and enjoy the benefits it brings wherever they live.
Volunteering with us is a fantastic way to help us champion environmental issues such as the climate emergency, renewable energy, biodiversity and sustainable transport.
CPRE The countryside charity, finds positive solutions for the issues facing the countryside and the environment. CPRE actively campaigns and lobbies government to address the issues which affect our environment and landscape. Local groups can engage with national campaigns or work on issues pertinent to their local area.
Our campaigns this year include
Hedgerow Heroes, with an objective to plant or restore 40% more hedgerow in the UK by 2050.
Rooftop Renewables a campaign to be launched in June to encourage significant increase in the deployment of sustainable energy sources on rooftops.
Sustainable Rural Transport, sustainable travel choices, keeping cars off the road and pollution out of the atmosphere.
Better places to live, working with local partners and the government to create well-designed, vibrant places that people want to live in – with the homes people need, great public transport links and easy access to work, leisure and nature.
