Cowdray Ruins, set on the edge of the historic town of Midhurst, are an evocative reminder of one of the country’s most important Tudor houses with historical, social and political significance - having hosted visits by Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.
Cowdray Ruins are in the care of Cowdray Heritage Trust, whose objectives are to preserve and maintain the Ruins and promote for public benefit the study and appreciation of the same as a place of historic and architectural interest.
Due to the need for urgent repair works the magnifcent ruins, both a Scheduled Ancient Monument and Grade I listed building, had to limit access to visitors, so the Trust is being creative in how it delivers a visitor experience with plans for both in-person and digital events in the future.
