Artspace is a visual arts organisation based in Coventry. We work with artists and communities to explore and respond to our city’s most unique environments and characteristics and to think about its future as a centre for inspirational artistic engagement.
Specifically the company objectives are to:
(a) provide for the public in Coventry, in particular but not exclusively those in need due to youth, age, social or economic disadvantage, the provision of facilities, items and services to enable the said residents to engage in the arts and education in the arts and to do so in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving their condition of life.
(b) encourage and advance the education of the public in the appreciation and practice of the arts, by increasing access to the arts through the provision of participatory arts outreach projects, special exhibitions and other community-based activities.
The activities undertaken to achieve these objectives fall into four categories, which often overlap:
