Our core objectives are:

  • To champion the aspirations and views of Somali organisations and communities in the UK.
  • Through policy work and campaigns influence local and central government policies in order to improve the conditions of Somali communities.
  • Through research provide a true picture of Somali communities living in the UK.
  • To provide high-quality organisational capacity building and technical support that will improve service delivery of our members.
  • To build and support collaboration between Somali and non-Somali organisations and local authorities and statutory bodies.

Our primary aims are to:

Improve the quality of services provided by member CVOs, through capacity building support, including via training and business surgeries; to provide a true picture of the diverse Somali community, its needs, aspirations and achievements, through publication of research; to influence policy so as to ensure the voice and interests of Somalis are represented, through campaign and policy work. We also provide leadership training to help address the deficit and to ensure Somalis take up places around decision-making tables, influence policy and laws.
