Objectives

The Council for British Research in the Levant (CBRL) is an educational charity (No 1073015) that promotes, sponsors and conducts high-quality research in the humanities and social sciences throughout the countries of the Levant (Jordan, the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Israel, Lebanon, and Syria).

Activities

CBRL operates research centres in Amman and Jerusalem, funds academic research, organizes conferences, lectures and other events, and publishes academic journals and books. The CBRL belongs to the British Academy network of Sponsored Institutes and Societies (BASIS) that supports British overseas research and has its UK office within the British Academy in London
