Objectives

The Coroners' Courts Support Service (CCSS) is a registered Charity whose trained volunteers give emotional and practical support to bereaved families and other witnesses attending an inquest at Coroners' Courts in England and Wales. CCSS also provide a National Helpline and a local Telephone Support Service for bereaved families & witnesses attending Coroners' Courts.

Activities

The vision of the CCSS is to have volunteers available at every Court in England and Wales. It is our hope that no one should attend an Inquest without the practical and emotional support our volunteers can provide. We do this by establishing a team of volunteers at a court, providing training and support throughout their voluntary role to enable families and witnesses attending those courts to have access to the support they might need when attending their loved ones inquest.
