Objectives

Computer Aid seeks to alleviate poverty and overcome disadvantage and discrimination through the application of low cost ICT initiatives. We work with local NGOs and communities identifying problems and solutions which they have reason to value.

Activities

We organise projects using ICT in most sectors-education, health and agriculture- and on a thematic basis - gender, governance, biodiversity, which use ICT to improve the lives of communities. We are also the largest charity providing refurbished computers and other equipment donated by companies, public authorities and individuals. This not only provides access to equipment which might otherwise be unaffordable but it also reduces the carbon footprint of the equipment and prevents perfectly usable equipment being scrapped.
