CDUK work directly with children & families in shanty towns, rural mountain schools, communities & refugee camps abroad..
We have provided a woman and child development centre in South America & school building in Ghana, Africa & are currently fundraising to build a sewing workshop for mothers with HIV who need to support their children in Rwanda. We have provided wells, wind turbines, rainwater harvesting tanks, orchards & vegetable gardens, educational materials & libraries, industrial sewing machines for sewing & leather workshops, hand knitted clothing for refugees in Ukraine, Palestine, Greece, France & Syria via our Knit for Kids project& we send pillow case dresses & shorts to children in rural Africa
We are finishing a project is assisting a remote rural school in Ghana where we funded a bore hole for water. Cooperating with the local village Chief, .the school has been growing vegetables to share with the community & pupils, The building of a kitchen/ store room will assist feeding the many severely malnourished children that attend this school.. We have also provided 7 metal latrine doors to enable privacy. We will terminate this project by buying a heard of goats for the villagers to enhance the health of the children and the village economy
We focus on consulting with local people as to their requirements and on helping people to help themselves to lead independent lives.
We raise funds via grant making agencies and Trusts, volunteer groups holding fundraising events for us, Lions & Rotary Club funding, local collecting tins. CDUK hold fundraising event s& Crowd Funding Campaigns, encourage corporate donations and much more. We need more skilled trustees and volunteers to expand as three of our Trustees have retired to live abroad & one sadly died.
