Community Plan for Holloway (CP4H) works to ensure the views and needs of the community are at the forefront of the redevelopment of the former Holloway Prison site, by creating opportunities for local people from a wide range of backgrounds to be heard, and their views taken into account by decision makers. We are an established coalition of local people, groups and organisations, committed to the future of the area and working to ensure the views of the local community shape the Holloway development, especially those most in need of new social housing, green spaces and women’s services.
The new development will comprise homes with a range of tenure including at council rent levels, a new park and a Women’s Space to replace the 40 services for women lost when the prison closed. CP4H aims to ensure that local people have access to well-designed and truly affordable housing, a new public park for all and excellent service provision.
CP4H is a group of local people, and organisations, and strives to amplify local voices. We take part in regular working groups about different aspects of the development and we are steered by our board of volunteer trustees. Our activities include community and online events, training workshops, public meetings to inform and to listen at critical stages of the planning process, street stalls to meet local people to find out their priorities and lots more.
