Objectives

To advance the education of the public in the field of health care and the preservation and protection of health in particular relation to: a.) eradication of head lice, a common UK parasite which particularly affects children and their families b.) respect for the principles of good practice in their control c.) education in the use of and dissemination of all relevant aids and resources d.) promotion of informed, co-ordinated community action.

Activities

Promotion of 3 National Bug Busting Days to co-ordinate reliable detection of head lice by parents and prevent onward transmission. Supply of reusable Bug Buster Kits (no expensive chemicals required). This informs families about the sustainable, effective management of head lice and nits. Website, email and help line support services. Review of research and developments for the NHS, WHO, etc.
