Community Housing and Therapy (CHT) works with young people and adults, the majority of whom have diagnoses of psychosis or personality disorders and who have challenging and complex presentations and histories of trauma, within a psycho-developmental framework - 'where relationships are the treatment' - in order to create an environment that enables individual development, improved health and wellbeing, and the opportunity to go on to lead successful, fulfilling and productive lives.
CHT provides residential recovery communities where people in severe mental distress, often discharged from psychiatric hospital or secure care, can learn to live with others, share experiences, develop emotionally and psychologically, and go on to achieve more fulfilling lives - to 'get a life worth living' as one of our residents put it. We provide individual psychotherapy, psycho-education, developmentally-oriented group psychosocial experiences, and the experience of group living within a safe and containing environment.
