Objectives

C.A.S.T. is a grassroots community activist group based in Southend-on-Sea which aims to support the self-determined needs of asylum seekers and refugees. We aim to bring communities together to address isolation and loneliness through hosting and friendship projects which build relationships of trust, inter-dependency, respect, and solidarity within Southend-on-Sea.

Activities

CAST  assists Refugees, Asylum seekers, those with No recourse to public funds (NRPF) and newer migrants in Southend on sea and surrounding arears. through advice, support and signposting to appropriate services. We also provide the much needed liaison on their behalf with community providers and statutory organisations.

CAST brings communities together to address isolation and loneliness through Hosting and Friendship projects which build relationships of trust, inter-dependency, respect, and solidarity in Southend-on-Sea. As active members of the Southend Homeless Action Network (HACT); we advocate for the fair representation of non-status people and challenge the structures which create barriers to an equal society for our stakeholders.
