Objectives

The Commercial Education Trust (CET) is an independent grant-making charity, originally established by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry. CET has a vision of a society in which people have the knowhow, skills and opportunity to succeed in work, thereby creating a thriving UK economy.

Activities

CET works with a range of charities and organisations, encouraging the development of commercial education from primary school level through to higher education. The Trust has supported initiatives that help school children prepare for the world of work, assisted higher education and vocational institutes to deliver employability and enterprise education, and funded programmes which bring together the worlds of business and commerce with teaching and education. CET plays a proactive role in developing projects to achieve maximum impact and measure success through evaluation, as well as encourages the sharing of best practice.

We seek to:

  • embed in education (at every level) the means by which people can apply their learning to work;
  • develop commercial awareness and understanding in young people;
  • encourage individuals to be enterprising and innovative;
  • make a positive contribution to the development of effective commercial education and training.
