Clare House is a mainstream community primary school in the process of converting to an academy and joining a local Multi Academy Trust. The school provides education for children aged between 4 and 11, which is based on the requirements of the National Curriculum and the expectations of Ofsted that it should be of the highest standard and meet the needs of all children regardless of their background or academic ability. The school aims to build well rounded individuals who are physically fit, resilient, resourceful, culturally aware and ambitious for success when they move on to secondary education at age 11.
At the moment the school is classed as “good” by Ofsted and we are aiming for the top scoring “outstanding” when the next assessment happens any time now.
We are responsible for setting the strategic direction of the school and ensuring that it meets its legal and other obligations as set by the Department for Education.
We moved into lovely new building in November 2015 and we are more than halfway along a move from a single to a two-form entry primary school. We are also converting to an academy and joining a small local Multi Academy Trust, currently scheduled for 1 August 2016. There are currently about 340 children in the school with another 90 or so to be added over the next three years. The school is culturally diverse and has a relatively low percentage of children attracting the Pupil Premium (a recognised indicator of deprivation).
