Objectives

Citizens Advice have been providing advice and information to people for over 80 years.  We cover a broad range of enquiry areas, such as Benefits, Housing, Debt and Money, Employment, Consumer, Family, Immigration and Legal matters.  In addition to responding to people's enquiries, we campaign to improve the policies and practices that impact on people's lives to help create a fairer world.

Our aim is to give people the knowledge and confidence they need to find their way forward - whoever they are and whatever their problem.

Activities

We run an advice service which is available either by phone or email, Monday to Friday, 9.30 to 3.30.  In addition to our General Advice service, we also have specialists who help with Money and Debt issues, Benefit specialists who support clients to apply for benefits and appeal decisions by the DWP that may be wrong, Housing specialists who help people to maintain their homes and a Supported Advice Team that gives extra support to vulnerable clients with Mental Health difficulties. We also have Energy specialists who help with ensuring people can stay warm and a Long Covid worker who takes referrals from West Suffolk Hospital.
