Objectives

Citizens Advice Welwyn Hatfield provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone in the Welwyn Hatfield area on their rights and responsibilities.  In 2017/18, we helped over 4,500 clients face-to-face and over the phone, and dealt with 14,000 client issues. Last year, 29% of client issues related to benefits and 24% related to debt. Others came to us to discuss housing, employment rights, discrimination issues and problems arsing from health and relationship problems. In a recent customer satisfaction survey 99% of clients were satisfied with the service they received and 99% said that they would use it again.

Activities

In addition to the main drop-in and outreach services providing face to face guidance and support we are part of the Hertfordshire Advice line telephone service. We also run various long-term and short-term funded projects covering areas such as homelessness prevention and disability benefits. Although our emphasis is on empowering our clients, we will support them with casework when needed.
