Objectives

Citizens Advice Havant is a highly regarded local advice agency providing free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities

We currently support over 6,000 clients per year and they are our absolute priority and our 50 volunteers are the very heart of our service

We work to keep advice free, and make access to advice easier so that our services are widely available throughout our community

We value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination

We empower clients to help themselves by supplying good, accurate information through our advice channels, which can be accessed face to face at a range of locations, over the phone and online

Activities

Citizens Advice Havant operates advice centres across the Borough of Havant in Hampshire; in the Meridian Shopping Centre in Havant, Leigh Park and Waterlooville Libraries and also at outreach facilities at Havant Borough Council’s Plaza, DWP’s Job Centre and Hayling Island Community Centre. Our advice teams are mainly volunteer advisers, superbly trained and with quality assured management. We also employ specialist caseworkers for those needing complex support. As well as advice centres we operate phone, email and webchat services.

Our philosophy is all about offering the right kind of support: We can all face problems that seem complicated or intimidating. At Citizens Advice Havant, we believe no one should have to face these problems without good quality, independent advice We are part of the Citizens Advice network of charities offering confidential advice online, over the phone, and in person, for free. When we say we’re for everyone, we mean it. People rely on us because we’re independent and totally impartial.

No one else sees so many people with so many different kinds of problems, and that gives us a unique insight into the challenges people are facing today. With the right evidence, we can show big organisations – from companies right up to the government – how they can make things better for people.

That’s why we’re here: to give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward - whoever they are, and whatever their problem.
