The Charity is a consortium, each Local Citizens Advice in Essex being a member.
The charity's aims and objectives are to promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of the community in Essex and surrounding areas by the advancement of education, the protection and preservation of health and the relief of poverty, sickness and distress. This is achieved by providing free, confidential, impartial and independent information, advice and guidance to help people overcome the issues they face.
The work takes place primarily through our 10 members. Each member has a main site supported by further outreaches and our telephone service, Adviceline
Citizens Advice in Essex helps over 47,000 people every year via our face to face,phone, email and webchat services. We provide high quality information, advice and guidance, evidenced by our 2 quality marks, The Advice Quality Standard and the Money Advice Quality Framework.
An additional 1.1million people in Essex accessed information and advice on our public website.
We measure our Impact using a Treasury approved software, New Economy.
