Citizens Advice Central Nottinghamshire is a local independent charity for the community that delivers a significant impact for the community. Last year it helped 15,333 individuals with almost 55,451 problems. The main enquiry areas are benefits, housing and debt. However, in 2023/24 we saw enquiries for help to access charitable support making the top four for the first time followed by problems with utilities. Demand is up on last year with a staggering increase during the last quarter. Overall, this data shows the impact of the cost-of-living is biting hard across Central Nottinghamshire.
Citizens Advice Central Nottinghamshire works in partnership with local service providers in the voluntary and statutory sectors and provides outreach advice services within the community targeting our service towards people most likely to be socially excluded.
The organisation has a Trustee Board who are responsible for setting the strategy and budget for the organisation. Day to day responsibility for the running of the organisation is with the Chief Executive Officer and Operations Director together with a management team.
We employ specialists in the fields of money advice, housing and welfare benefits and mental health support who work in the local community supported by our volunteer advisors.
Currently we have 50 paid staff and 70 volunteers across our 5 premises and numerous outreaches ensuring we are at the heart of the communities we serve.
