The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing information and advice and by influencing policymakers. The service provides free, confidential, impartial advice to anyone on almost any subject.
The Bureau deals with 3000 clients a year and has an annual turnover of £220,000. There are around 25 trained volunteers giving advice, plus a small number of paid staff providing oversight and training. The Head Office is in Hatfield. An outreach has just opened in Welwyn Garden City and more may be needed to meet rapidly rising demand, if funds can be found.
