East Hampshire Citizens Advice Bureau (EHCAB) is a charity created to serve the local community, providing advice and information on a wide range of subjects, including debt advice, benefits, relationships, housing, employment, etc. We provide advice to more than 6000 clients annually, often to those in immediate and critical need, e.g. overwhelming debt, impending evictions, homeless and those without food or shelter. In addition to advice and information we may also support clients directly to resolve their issues for them (those who are unable to act for themselves).
We recruit and train volunteers who provide advice to all those who need it, across the District in several locations. This takes the form of face to face meetings, telephone and email advice as well as maintaining a web based service centre. The CAB operates under the auspices of the National CAB and meets the quality standards for providing advice directly to the public face to face in our office locations.
