Objectives

The Citizens Advice service provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. It values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination

The service aims:

  • To provide the advice people need for the problems they face
  • To improve the policies and practices that affect people's lives

Activities

We provideĀ information and advice to all clients in the community on a wide range of issues including, welfare benefits, housing, employment, consumer, debt and legal advice. We provide specialist advice on social security up to and including tribunal representation and housing advice through our housing unitĀ team. Telephone advice is operated on a countrywide basis in partnership with the 5 county CitAd. We report areas of injustice through our social policy work to try to influence change where client groups are disadvantaged.
