To provide a free and independent service including advice,information, guidance and support to individuals in need in the community.
To exercise influence on social policies and services locally and nationally in the interests of all members of the community
Bureau staff and volunteers work with individual members of the public, face to face or on the telephone, to enable them to manage their problems by providing them with information, advice and support.
The services provided are free, impartial and confidential. Issues raised include employment, housing, debt, benefits, immigration, consumer and family.
We also collect information on social policy issues which is used by our central office to influence policy makers nationally.
We train and support new volunteers and encourage career progression.
