Objectives

2/5ths of income from property rental is set aside for assisting the education of young people under 25 who are resident or studying in the London Borough of Croydon. The Education Fund is distributed at the discretion of the Trustees, in response to applications from individuals or (charitable) organisations; and covers funding for educational needs such as laptops and textbooks; wellbeing needs such as sports or music equipment; and, in some instances, travel costs.

Activities

The Trustees meet quarterly (January, April, July and October) to consider grant applications received.  They are assessed on the basis of the financial needs of the applicants and evidence provided by independent parties to support their submissions.  The charity supports Croydon Drop In with an annual grant, to assist in their support of young people in Croydon.  The balance of funds available is awarded for various educational needs, such as laptops, school uniforms, course books and travel costs.
