Objectives

The Choir with No Name’s mission is to provide a safe environment for all people who have experienced homelessness or exclusion to enjoy singing and build their confidence and skills along the way.  Currently operating in London, Liverpool and Birmingham, we provide rehearsals, a meal after each rehearsal, workshops in hostels and day centres, and monthly performances.

We allow members to shift their focus from their social problems to the music and community we create together, meaning they can reconnect with who they were before they were defined by their homelessness.

Our Values

Support

For many choir members the support of family and friends is absent. The CWNN provides an environment where the group comes together in trust and supports each other’s endeavours, musical or otherwise.

Fun

We create a relaxed atmosphere where members are encouraged to enjoy themselves!

Excellence

We see no reason why a background in homelessness should create excuses for poor performances. We expect the best from our singers and we give them a solid musical platform on which to stand by using professional musicians as support.

Collaboration

Members contribute to the musical direction of the choir through song choices and where appropriate through leading rehearsals.

Our Vision

We aim to have a choir in every city that has a problem with homelessness.  Our vision is that no-one who has experienced homelessness should feel alone or unable to express themselves.
