As a listed charity and heritage site museum, we provide the rare opportunity for children to learn about history as part of their school curriculum, within our beautiful 45 acre Chilterns' site. Adult visitors too, enjoy visiting our restored through the ages buildings and working Victorian farm.
Families and individuals enjoy a number of organised events throughout the year, bringing the site to life and thrilling, through live enactments and demonstrations, depicting life from the iron age to the twentieth century.
We also offer a range of volunteering opportunities throughout the site, including working within the buildings and farm teams, to librarians, artefact curators, stewards and ticket sellers. Volunteers also assist with office based tasks, helping with annual pass holders and fundraising.
As well as running popular events, we also look to fund raise, to support the infrastructure of the museum and essential repair work to our ancient buildings. We rely heavily on goodwill and community support. We look to test innovative ideas, to support our goals.
