Objectives

The principal objects and activities of the charity are to advance the education of young persons and mature students and in particular, but without prejudice, to persons of Japanese origin and to advance the education of the public in all aspects of Japanese culture. These objects reflect the founder’s educational philosophy of international co-operation through the medium of the main language of world business, English.  

Activities

Chaucer College receives many students from Shumei University and its associated high schools and has diversified to provide English Language and cultural programmes for students from many other countries; in recent years mostly from Spain and Italy but with increasing numbers from elsewhere in Europe and Latin America. Apart from the 5-month University course, most students stay for between one and four weeks.
