Challenge Adventure Group (“CAG” for short and the operating name of CAG Trust) is a voluntary youth organisation for Knowle, Dorridge and beyond aimed at boys aged 10 and above.
As our name suggests, we provide challenging, adventurous and fun activities and the D of E Award for young people in their leisure time. Taking part in fun experiential activities enables members to develop their physical and mental skills and capacities and reach their full potential of becoming positive, active and happy citizens.
We are what our name says – we get outside as much as possible to do “stuff”: paddling down rivers or at our local mere; lighting fires and outdoor cooking; camping trips and adventures; bike rides; paintball events and so much more…
Members enjoy weekly meetings on Tuesday evenings between 7pm and 9pm at our base at CAG Towers (also known as Bickenhill Church Hall). We run most of our program from our base but may go to other activity centres occasionally such as Ackers Adventure, Laser Quest, Flash Climbing Centre, etc.
We go away once a month or so on an outdoor weekend trip and bi-annually on a Ski Trip in Europe. Our weekend trips involve camping or staying in Youth Hostels whilst we try sailing, surfing, climbing, abseiling, hiking, biking and ghyll scrambling in the Lake District etc. The opportunities are endless, and we intend to try them all…
CAG is a licensed operator of the D of E Award. We are the only independent D of E operator in Solihull and provide all levels from Bronze to Gold.
Getting out and about with CAG will allow members to try activities they may not otherwise be able to try with other people their age… and they will never forget them, they’ll be amazing memories they will talk about for the rest of their lives.
