Objectives

Chain Lane Community Hub has an important role in the Knaresborough community and has been here, in one form or another, since 1946. It was recently saved from demolition and refurbished into a at local venue that is flexible, affordable and easily accessible. We have three lovely rooms for hire and cater to a wide variety of groups and businesses.

Chain Lane Community Hub:

  • is a focal point for not for personal profit social action within the community
  • offers rooms to hire for local groups and events that contribute to community life
  • provides office space to organisations that complement the work of CLCH

With two paid members of staff, our Volunteers and Trustees are an invaluable source of support.

Activities

We offer an important and safe space within the community and are a not for profit, charitable organisation. Whatever income we generate goes back into supporting the Hub to keep everything running smoothly.

No one week is the same at CLCH and it can be difficult to keep up! We have regular groups such as Pilates, Sugarcrafting, Rhythym Time for youngsters, well-being classes for older people, several art classes and a local photography group - to name just a few. We recently had a pop-up play event for children during the Easter holidays.

We hire rooms to local businesses such as North Yorkshire County Council, the NHS Trusts and Community First Yorkshire.
