CATALYST 4 CHANGE aims to support community organisations, social enterprises, faith groups or businesses that have a significant African and Caribbean mental health / wellbeing service user base.
We do this by providing networking opportunities, capacity building, incubation support, representation and research; and access to a professional services directory.
At CATALYST 4 CHANGE we believe that African and Caribbean communities are holders of huge reserves of social capital, of assets and resources, skills and talents, knowledge and experience… yet much of this remains unknown and little understood or utilised by our public agencies.
Our core services are:
Capacity Building
CATALYST 4 CHANGE will provide practical hands-on capacity building support services for service user led, voluntary and community sector mental health and wellbeing organisations based on a unique response tailored to their particular needs.
This will also include signposting to other member organisations as well as external and professional services that offer our affiliates specific member benefits.
Service Incubation
The service incubation provision will provide the safety net of a fully constituted and accountable body acting as the responsible agency for any developing organisations until they have the confidence and infrastructure to be fully independent.
Equally, longstanding organisations can also experience periods where their governance capacity is adversely affected and are in need of a temporary accountable or lead body.
Research & Evaluation
We will ensure that any proposed or existing services amongst the service sectors we support are most effectively meeting identified needs in the community, and are not overly duplicated or competitive.
We will also act as a voice and intermediary with publicly accountable bodies for and on behalf of the service sectors and members represented in our core aims, ensuring their views and needs are addressed.
Professional Services
We will maintain an up to date online directory of both member and external professional services across a broad spectrum from office service to consultancy.
In addition most professional service providers will extend discounted rates to affiliate members, and affiliates themselves can register any professional services they may provide on the directory as well.
