Objectives

We are a local charity supporting unpaid carers looking after a relative or friend with an illness, disability or mental health issue. We offer advice, support and signposting due to our close contacts with other professional organisations, both statutory and voluntary. We also run various support groups across Wakefield District as well as training and awareness sessions. Our aim is to ensure that carers within our locality feel supported and valued and are able to maintain their caring role for as long as they feel able.

Activities

In order to meet our objectives, we work within the 'Connecting Care Hubs’, alongside our colleagues in health and social care to provide a coordinated and streamlined approach to accessing help and support for unpaid carers in the Wakefield District.
