Objectives

Carers’ Support is a charity established in 1994 providing high quality support to unpaid Carers across Ashford, Shepway & Swale : Kent.

 

Activities

Our services (which are free of charge) include:

  • Social & Well-being ‘Meet & Talk’ groups - including partner agency guest speakers
  • Carers’ Assessments – with one of our highly trained & empathetic Coordinators
  • 1:1 Emotional Support visits
  • Information, advice and guidance, including signposting to specialist agencies
  • 1:1 Telephone Befriending support
  • Advocacy
  • Hospital Discharge Service
  • Kent Carers’ Emergency Card
  • Rapid Response Respite support – for when things may become overwhelming
  • Carers’ Newsletter – providing regular updates
  • Training opportunities – for example ‘First Aid & Manual Handling’
