Objectives

Carers provide regular (and unpaid) support to a child, partner, relative or friend who cannot manage without their help perhaps because of their illness, disability, addiction or frailty of old age.  Carers deserve the same life chances that other people enjoy - good health, financial security, the right to a family life, and opportunities to work and pursue their own interests. But the reality can be vastly different.

Carers Link supports and encourages carers - including young carers - by providing support, information, advocacy, courses, groups – and a listening ear when needed. Our aim is to help carers to have the best possible quality of life, both while they are caring for someone and if their caring role ends. No matter who you are or who you care for, Carers Link is here to support you.

Activities

During the year 2017-18, we provided support to just under 1200 unique carers.  This support was provided through a range of services:  peer support through our popular Carers Call telephone support service, peer support from volunteers and carers through a range of groups, delivery of training courses and (through staff), we provide 1-to-1 support and advocacy.  We work with carers of all ages, including young carers.
