The aim of the group is to provide support for families in the local community of the High Peak where their children have any kind of special educational need – SEN. The group will provide peer support to parents/carers and children of all ages. The group raises awareness, educate, and encourage acceptance in the wider community. We provide opportunities, activities, and support in the High Peak to the families and children coping with SEN. All families, within the group, no matter what, will have the chance to have fun, make friendships and support each other in a judgement free environment.
We source, organise and fund activities in the High Peak for children with SEND and their families. This includes activities for siblings, and a weekly parent and carer support group. In providing such dedicated spaces and activities children with SEN and their families are able to meet and engage with educational and social activities where they would otherwise be excluded or unwelcome.
