Since many UK councils have declared a Climate Emergency, and committed to the goal of Net Zero CO2 emissions by 2030, Carbon Savvy was established to support both councils and individuals to reduce personal carbon footprints, region by region.
We offer a suite of free-to-use Carbon Footprint Calculators and a quality of life self-assessment sheet, both with tracking functionality, enabling users to become aware of their own carbon footprint in different lifestyle areas, and watch it change as they shift towards a more low-carbon lifestyle. At the same time we find there are often positive changes in the more subjective area of 'Quality of Life´.
For Britain to significantly reduce its C02 emissions individuals, organisations and businesses all need to be informed about which activities/ products/ choices have bigger and smaller carbon footprints. Our approach is guilt free, and highlights the positive benefits to us as individuals in making low carbon choices.
We work with Local Authorities (to date 4 Devon councils) to create carbon footprint awareness campaigns, using simple language and a positive uplifting approach that empowers people to be part of the change.
We send out a monthly mailing suggesting ways to reduce your carbon footprint that are easy to do.
We offer courses and one-off talks abut the connection between a low carbon footprint and a higher quality of life. We are also developing other materials such as a Low Carbon Handy Guide book. Our courses are the in-depth Carbon Ambassadors live course (8 weeks), Carbon Ambassadors Flexible Learning course (study in your own time), and the lighter Carbon Savers bite sized course (10 topics, Each one 15 minutes long).
In partnership with Go Climate Positive we also now offer a footprinting service to businesses.
