Objectives

Cancer Research UK pioneers life-saving research to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. We don’t receive government funding for our research, so every step we make towards beating cancer relies on every pound donated. From our volunteers and supporters on the ground to our scientists, doctors and nurses in the hospitals and labs, we’re all working together to save more lives by preventing, controlling, and curing all cancers.

And there is real hope. Over the last 40 years, our work has helped to double survival rates. With the continued help of our supporters we can accelerate our progress against this devastating disease.

Activities

We may be leading the world in our ground-breaking research, but the fact that every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer positions us firmly at the heart of the local community.

90% of the UK population lives within 30 miles of one of our research sites, and our network of corporate and public fundraisers helps keep us close to the communities we serve.
