At Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT) we carry out research and campaigning against the UK arms trade. We expose weapons sales, human rights abuses and corruption, and campaign for a better future. We believe that the arms trade is not only devastating to human rights, but also damages economic development both in the UK and abroad.
We want to see a vision of security that isn’t led by arms companies and the military. Instead we want to see an understanding of ‘security’ that addresses the main causes of insecurity, like social inequality and climate change.
CAAT seeks to highlight arms trade issues through the media, parliamentary lobbying and its network of supporters. Core CAAT activities include local campaigning, media campaigns, non-violent protests and events, and parliamentary lobbying, all based on solid and reliable research.
