Objectives

Chell Area Family Action Group (CAFAG) is a registered charity based at the Whitfield Valley Centre in Fegg Hayes, Stoke-on-Trent. We have long been an invaluable part of the local community, providing activities and services that are designed to improve the physical, mental and social health of the communities of Fegg Hayes, Chell, Chell Heath and the wider areas. At CAFAG we aim to bring a sense of community and aspire to improve the lifestyle in the local community.
People/communities are at the heart of CAFAG. People & communities will be involved in the project through our Focus Groups & Project Planning Groups & where possible the activities themselves. In addition, CAFAG has a Board of Trustees consisting of mostly local residents.

We are here to support everybody and we work with and within the community providing for the health and wellbeing of the local and wider populations and improving their life chances and inspiring change.

We provide a venue for voluntary and community groups to meet and for regular activities to take place, as well as being for hire  for events and private parties.

Activities

CAFAG has over 23 years experience of working with deprived, disadvantaged and isolated local community members. Through its operation of the Whitfield Valley Centre, CAFAG provides activities and services such as a Community Café, Creche, two Community Nurseries (the second nursery operates from Stoke North Children's Centre), a Youth Project, a Community Gardening project, an independent Community Gym operated by Aston Fitness, over 55's Lunch Club, a health and wellbeing project, 'real life' work placements, volunteering, training and courses, Messy Angels. All these activities operate under one roof and in a central location however, we also work within local schools, play groups, Children's Centre etc.
